What a gorgeous year for Oscars gowns! Old Hollywood definitely made a showing on the red carpet. Starlets sparkled in their glittery gowns, shone brightly in their sleek gowns, and wedding-minded pros like myself spend every minute of E!’s coverage and many hours after the Big Show picking out the Oscars dresses that translate into wedding fashion. Jennifer Lawrence’s stunning gown is definitely one for the bride to consider, and bridesmaids everywhere are hoping that their brides don’t choose anything like Anne Hathaway’s pink gown with the crazy open back and the unfortunate darts on the bodice.
But what I saw on the Oscars red carpet and on the big stage were gowns that mothers of the bride and groom could wear.
